Shoot for around 100octane...
your motor WILL detonate with pump gas
Its my firm beliefe that most of the Raptor rod failures were due to detonation from poor quality fuel

IMO...

Raptor rod failures are due to fatigue failure from a crack the begins at the oil hole and propagates out. This is due to a poor material selection from Yamaha for use in an abused off road vehicle. This material is stresed beyond it's endurance limit when exceeding 6500 RPM. This rod was develeoped for a quaint street bike use. But, I am sure detonation doesn't help.

I'm considering the same combination. Is 12:1 safe on 93 with an ignition recurve and carb tuning sense, or would you suggest staying with 11:1? Thanks.
