26hp at 1200 rpms. I have no idea how much torque that equals but its alot. That and its ancient so the port design probably wasnt efficent. Would be making a lot more these days.

*edit, I did some math, my math says 113.7 ft lbs of torque. Beat that with a 760cc fourstroke lmao. Imagine if it was a modern high compression computer port desiged motor.
Still, the point of the thread was 2 stroke vs 4 stroke atv's. I know a 2 stroke could make low end power if it was designed to, but the ones in atv's never were, so my statement still holds true that 2 stroke atv's don't have as much low end power as 4 stroke atv's.

When were those 760's made? I never heard of a 2 stroke with more than 500 cc's, and can't imagine what it would be like to ride a 760 that pulls that hard from idle, sounds kinda like it would ride more like a highly modified 4 stroke than your run-of-the-mill 2 stroke.

That was a cool article JakelWarrior... 26hp at 1200rpm's is unreal!!! Todays 4 strokes can't make that kind of power.... And 46hp at 4000rpm's, I wish I could take a spin on that bike!

My Lt500 has quite a bit of torque... I'd be willing to bet that the majority of 4 strokers DON'T produce that much...
Granted, it's now 18 years old... but your statement of 'never were' comes into play here...

Also, If you've never heard of a 2 stroke with more than 500cc's, you should come look in my garage LoL!

Most two strokes were sports so they wouldn't be designed for al lot of torque neithre would 4-strokes as such. But if you were to take a zilla and a predator, both 500cc I bet the zilla would be able to pull up hills in higher gears than a pred. Whatt about a 250r and a 250ex again both 250 but the 250r would produce more torque. You cant compare too many to utes as there was very few 2 stroke utes. I think polaris made one I'm not sure.
