OK. I have an edelbrock carb for my warrior. I just cant seem to get it exactly right. When I first start my bike when cold it kinda wants to die. So when I gas it it pops... and than after warming up it stops. Also when I get to about a 1/4 to third throttle and on and I am just crusing it kinda pops or surges. When I am slamming thru the gears it runs good. I was told by a guy from edelbrock that with all the mods I have that it runs like that when just putsing around because it wants to be slammed on. He says most bikes with lots of motor mods will do this. My plug looks pretty good according to the color. Any suggestions. Again when slowly rolling on the throttle after about 1/4 throttle it's almost like its lagging or kinda surges or pops. Kinda hard to understand. When I am really giving it all shes got and flying thru the gears its fine. Any advice...thanks

Popping thru the intake , while going on the throttle means the idle circuit is too lean. Either the mixture screw or the idle juet is too lean.
Same for popping at cruise. Are you running with an air box or lid? Is the intake tight and leak free?

Your running to lean on the bottom end, I suggest turning out the pilot a little and possibly rasing the needle one notch. If your able to give it gas and it revs fine then you're prolly pretty close with your mainjet and needle. Your built engine shouldn't run like that, unless you described it to him poorly the guy from Edelbrock doesn't know what hes talking about.

I have a 400 stroker kit with a wiseco 10.25 piston. I have an aluminum box with no lid and the clamp on K&N filter. The cylinder head is also ported and polished. Its bored .020 over as well. I never thought about checking the carb boot to see it it was cracked. It did crack on me before. I might have to mess with the accelerator pump a little. What I need to do is get it a dyno so I can fine tune everytrhing.
