Does anybody in here think that a KTM 525 SX dirtbike can have victory over a twin turbo 1995 Toyota Supra? I've heard that the KTM will out run the Yamaha YZ450F anyday, stock trim or not. Just the "word" out there.

 

since its an atv forum for yamaha, uhhhhhhhhhhh................can the dirtbike beat a blaster?

 

I donno about the car, but the dirtbike should beat the YFZ and will definitly kill the Blaster. The biggest reason is the power to weight ratio, dirtbikes weigh much less and have equal if not more power. The Blater is the one of the lightest quads made, but also makes low horsepower (15-18 stock), so it doesn't quite take advantage of the low weight. The only way your going to know if the dirtbike will beat the car is to just go out and race, give it a shot!

 

I raced my 1993 z28 against my 1982 IT465. The clutches on the bike did need replacing at the time. I drove the bike and my brother drove my camaro. (The camaro runs high 13's in the quarter mile.) The bike stayed even with the car till around 90, then the camaro started pulling away. With a good launch and new clutches the bike might edge out the car in the quarter.

 

A 525SX is quite fast off the line.....for a thumper.

I'd guess it would beat the car and it's certainly faster than a YZ450.....

 

Here is what KTM says about the 525 SX on their web site:

ummmm noo a twin turbo supra will kill a 525sx theres no doubt about that so if your racing for money or slips dont even do it but if its for fun why not have fun and try but the outcome will be in favor of the supra
