Default Tearing Down Raptor! 1st ? already LOL!

I am putting it at TDC. I got it aligned and had no play in my stem-rocker intake or exhaust. I went another turn and now I got play on the exhaust valves but NO play at all on the intake valves. Are the intake valves way out of adustment and I didn't even know? Am I at TDC? Just leave it here and go ahead and adjust to the cam specs when I install? Thx. What would we all do without this site? LOL

Well I went ahead and adjusted the intake valves. Everything seem alright now. Got to be at TDC on compression now. Intake valves were just too tight. Possibly why bike was running a little lean, popping when you let off gas too. Seems too all add up now. My guess anyways.

It sounds like you figured it out but the easiest way to know your TDC on the compression stoke is to turn the engine over counter clockwise until the intake valves open and the as soon as they close go another half turn on the crank til your at the mark.

O.K. got all the allen bolts off the cylinder head cover. Man what a pita. Now is the cylinder head cover supposed to come off nice and easy? Probably not ofcourse. It is on there pretty solid. Is this from the gasket/adhesive? What do I got to do to get it off (sledgehammer)? LOL Help me out.

Was I correct in thinking about the popping and backfiring due to the intake valves letting it too much air causing a lean mixture?

Well not bad for one night. Got her down to just rod and piston sticking out now. When I put the new gaskets on do I need to use any kind of adhesive or anything?

Really appreciate all the help thx. Any other advice or tips I would appreciate.
