Default For the owners of warriors. Question(s).

Well I got the oppurtunity to get a warrior that needs work. I don't have the money right now for a new or even a used quad really. This one needs various things, but once Im done with it, I could pretty much already replaced parts that wear fast, like bearings, seals, sprocket and chain, ect. to make it close to new condition. The topend needs to be rebuilt so I could bore it out a little bit and get a high comp. piston. Now to the questions.

How do the warriors seem to handle?

I want a reliable quad with good performance, what parts can I run and still run on pump gas and be reliable for all day abuse/riding.

All in all, how do you like your warriors?

well i love my little warrior.it's a great little bike. they are very reliable but they do lack a little on speed verus alot of the new quads coming out but if your going to rebuild the top end i would go ahead and go ***** out and make it as fast as i could.since 97 i've replaced a starter and starter clutch, cdi box{just for the upgrade] and bushing and bearings.we ride most of the time one day out of the weekend and on many rough trails.my warrior seems to ride rough but the shocks have many many miles on them.to be honest about it i'm now in the market for a faster quad or i'm going to give it a over haul over the winter.i have rode it hard many times and it has never let me down and it still has never used any oil.all in all they are a/ok in my book.

they seem to be hit or miss. I got mine used it is a 2001 with aftermarket exhaust. it ran good for about a week. the previous owner did no maintinence to it whatsoever. i had to replace the chain and sprockets. and now i am having issues with the electric start. But my friend has an 02' that is absolutley unstoppable. as far as handling goes, they are great. they are alittle heavy, but that is why they have reverse gear.

Yeah I'd be boring the cylinder out a little, but small enough so I have plenty of rebuilds left on it. I'd get everything I need for the rebuild. It needs a carb, so I figure upgrade it now and get it running pretty quick the first time around. I know other people here must have input, and thanks guys that already responded.

Great low end power, does not need to be revved out to get decent power. Its great for everyday trail riding but forget about making it a racing machine. It is about 20 year old technology, but the main flaw seems to be surrounding the electric start. Get a pull start if you happen to find one (just for back up.) Overall awsome quad.
