Default Thinking about Raptor 700 Next Spring

Hello Everyone,

I currently have a 01 Raptor that has had one tranny rebuild. I really do not want to "test" another quad for yamaha again. But have there been any issues yet with the new 700? By this time in 00 we were already seeing the tranny's blowing up. Anything seen on the Raptor 700 yet?

No reoccuring problems have been reported as of yet. There was one guy on here that mentioned he heard strange clicking noises coming from someone elses 700 (near the fuel injection area) and that the same 700's transmission made a clunking sound when he shifted. The guy had mods on the 700, and he said it was running like crap. People have been reporting that the fuel injection wont compensate enough after adding a pipe and filter without getting the Power Commander chip. I say this guy was just running too lean. Other than that I haven't heard any problem with them, everyone seems to be very happy with them. My g/f got one a couple months ago and it's been great. Hope this helps

No problems with mine, I'm waiting for my PCIII, but in the meantime I installed the Phoenix Sparky, stock baffle is out, GYTR adapter, gauze filter with prefilter and was able to run it through 3rd gear with no problems, didn't get to run it enough to do a plug check, was testing it on the steet in front of my house, will wait for this weekend to really check it out at the dunes.

So far I'm very happy with it, especially the handling, that's the reason I bought the 700R, not for the 686, but more for the EFI and its new stance.

Yeah, they aren't very fast. Check my thread. Also plan on a pipe being very expensive since the EFI does not compensate enough for a pipe. You will have to buy a powercommander as well. Pipe, Power commander and Pro Flo will run between $700 and $900 depending on the brands. I am a little disappointed in mine.
