Where is the serial # located on a 1998 big bear 350

Default SERIAL # ???

Once you find the serial #, the 10th character will identify the year. Prior to the year 2000, letters were used. Your car insurance company can tell you the year as it follows the same numbering system used for automobiles.

Default SERIAL # ???

Warrior boy22 said to look by my left foot peg,
Sorry no left foot peg on this baby.
But I glanced up the frame forward of the tank and
high and behold the serial number or what ever they want
to call it.
Also says fabricated in Japan 3/97 so now not sur if it is a 1998 or 1997.
But getting there.
Thank you all for the input it led me in the right direction. :-)

Default SERIAL # ???

Seems kind of early for a '98. Any title or registration? I'm guessing not.

It's a VIN. 17 digits, exactly like a car (some states require them to be registered, and some states allow them for street use as well.) (Well, in the US...)

Default SERIAL # ???

Hi
No title or registration.
Things work a little different here in canada and on this Island.
But yes its a 17 digit vin# and it does say fabricated in japan 3/97
So I'm asumming it was made in 97 and maybe sold in 98 as a 98 in 1998.
I will check bikebandit and cross reference part numbers .
97 to 98 and see what I come up with.
Anyway the eng has 160 compression, needs front pads, the whole back break assembly, and foot break cable..
May need a solinoid seems like it sticks when I shut here down.
Didnt drive it much. they took my 1985 1000 YAMAHA VIRAGO on an even trade.
I drove it 200 feet to the road turned around put it in my shop and stripped the wheels fenders
etc to seewhat I was getting into yesterday. Busy
Now the search begins for parts.
Thanks for the input.
