noisey grizzle 660 slowing down
i thought this was the rear brakes when it started. but it did not do it when it was new it has about 47 hours on it. after listening to it at frist it sounds like it coming from the back. but when the brakes are applied hard it is really coming from in the transmisson or the clutch. i removed the clutch and inspected it, it seems to be ok. any other sujjestions.

I'm not positive, but I believe it has to do with the rear drive shaft. It's not the brakes because it does it whether you're braking or not. You just notice it more when you are braking down hill or going over whoop type dumps. Ride around on a motocross track and you will really hear it. If you go on the Grizzly Owners Forum you will see that everyone's bike does it. I have 2 Grizzlies and they have both done it since they were new.
It really is nothing to worry about but you want to be able to recognize it in case you get a different sound that may be a real problem like the barrings.

This may sound stupid but check your heat shield. Mine was making a hell of a noise a month ago and thought it was the belt. I torn it apart about 3 times before my dumba$$ realized it was the heatshield loose. The Yamy dealer said he has had quite a few come in with that same problem.
