Wow I tore mine apart a sure enough the two screws were loose! This really sucks for people that dont know. Its an easy fix but sucks if you dont know to fix it!

I imagine they would grind that gear down or cause it to seize up?

why doesnt yamaha send out recalls for the bike??? like they do in cars...

Because it costs money, and they wont do it unless these parts start failing and causing problems. THey can release a service bulliten though, but then they'd be liable if they acknowledged it.

thats bad news. I was thinking about getting one. But anyways, how long would it take to fix it? how much do you think A 06 YFZ 450 by June 2006 cost?
