Default Riding Gears?

Are riding gears such as atv boots, chest proctectors, kidney belts (protector), and gloves vital for performing better? I mean like does having boots help you shift better? Does having chest protectors soften the impacts of falling? Does kidney belts actually protect the kidney? And are having gloves give you more "Strength" to pull in the clutch? Just questions about what I have heard growing up in the ATV world.

The boots are gonna protect your feet, alot better than just regular work boots, chest protecter is gonna save you from getting impaled by your bars, kidney belt is gonna save your kidney big time especially if you've had your spleine removed and gloves are gonna keep your knuckles from getting cold. So, yeah, I'd say it's all necessary.

All that stuff is to protect you in a crash. If you ever get hit in the chest with roost you might just go out and buy a chest protector the same day. Initially none of it will make you "faster" but it sure will keep you riding longer and reduce the severity of any injury you might incur.
