Yeah rear tires is normally the first change people make with there blasters..Good choice on the pipe to..I have a lrd on my bike and i love it..A 400ex, 250R, KFX, LTZ rear shock swap is also a cheap mod that makes a world of improvment..Good luck with everything..I got a few pics of a lrd on a blaster in my pics if you want to check it out..

HEY lethaface, does the kfx/z shock fit better than the ex shock? (without cutting the airbox?) Looks better than some of the ex shock conversions I've seen. Also. your mod list says you have a 5 inch reed spacer? Is that right? If so, how does that thing work? (I've heard of tunnel rams but that would be alot for a blaster) LOL!!

You might try banshee front shocks. They seem to be ALOT better than the stockers. I would also sugjest to widen it out. Seemed to make a world of difference in the handling. We widend ours about 3" total, and it really helped. And it still is not as wide as my 400ex so it will go where the 400 will.

That would be one hell of a reed spacer, lol

On my son's blaster first I did the pipe [great improvement] then I ported the reed cage and installed boysen power reeds [also made a big difference] recently I had the cylinder ported and polished,[by far the biggest and best improvement you can do].Also get rid of the oil injection and go premix........

No i didn't have to cut anything away on the airbox with the kfx shock..I do have the lid removed though...The piggy back rezzie would slightly rub the airbox when i put it on but it didn't hang up on the box or anything..Yeah banshee shocks up front are also a nice improvment..I agree about the porting by far the best mod you can do..But don't get it till you have the things that make it run correctly such as pipe, carb(with new carbs you need to install a new Oil Injection block off kit)..

Lethaface,

Did you try the shock with the stock swingarm, or was the ride to high? My son is looking around for parts to better his Blaster. Right now he is thinking +2 +1 a-arms and +2 or 3 swingarm. NOt sure on shocks just yet.. Might go with some cheap Elkas for the front, or maybe some 450 front shocks if they would fit, and a 400EX or 250R rear shock.

Is there a special linkage neede for the different rear shock?

Thanks.
