dg grab bar blows
#1
Ok So I've had my rappy and a DG grab bar on it for about 7 months, Ive been practicing wheeling a lot lately and have been touching the back end down in the dirt...This weekend the bar snapped. I had the dg wide grab bar, I thought that thing was solid, but I guess not! Anyone have some reccomendations? Maybe a solid steel bar? Instead of whatever that DG sh** is made of? For now ill keep the backend off the ground, or ill have to by a new pipe
TIA,

I just installed a PRM desert grab bar on my R yesterday and it looks great. Haven't flipped it yet with it on, but it looks tough!
- I have no idea why there is a link to a Polaris website in my comment????????????????????

well mine at 5 flips there was no bends, BUT this weekend i laid it back prob a dozen times (im practicing) and thats when i had the problem....
so how bout this, flip it back about 15 times today and let me know how ot holds up? haha jk... anyone else with some insight? Does anyone make a steel grab bar that is less likely to bend or SNAP like my DG did? (btw it snapped where the bolts were... right down the middle on both sides!)

Okay.. all you guys are wrong.. im sorry to be the one to say this.. and im not trying to start a fight. Ive looked for different "stronger" grab bars in my life and now i can say... why waste the time.
Ask yourself- What is a grab bar for.--- Well a grab bar is mostly for standing the bike up when you need to clean it, it is also incase you wheelie, flip up the quad too far- the grab bar will be there to stop you. Most of you guys think the weight of a grab bar matters, that is why its aluminum.. well this is true. steel is heavier than aluminum, however steel is much stronger than aluminum. The REAL reason why grab bars are aluminum is because they COULD bend, and could break. Do you want a bent/ broken grab bar? or do you want a bent/ broken sub-frame? The grab bar is protecting the sub-frame from being bent, and chewed up. Grab bars are supposed to bend under the force you put on it after wheeliing 15 times. Im sorry to say.. but if you ground your grab bar 15 times it should be broken. Learn how to wheelie and that will solve all your problems. Steel is a big NO because you will bend your frame. Its STRONG as anything but a grab bar isn't supposed to be strong.
If price matters then get a cheap grab bar- duhh just makes sence
If you dont care about price then go all out and buy a chrome bar for all i care...

If you get something stronger, you might bend the subframe. Ive got a PRM and its a solid piece. Remember that you get what you pay for! DG, Moose and all those $hity brands arent gonna cut it. Ive seen some guy on ebay selling stainless steel grab bars, you might give those a try if u want steel and not aluminum. Or you could just try not flipping it back?
