here's the deal. i took it in to sunnyside where i bought it and had just a general tune up done when i was in new york. i figured i had the money, so what the heck. anyway, back in mississippi, it just started to cool down at night, usually getting down to about 55 or 60 or so. i was riding to my buddies house at about 10 at night doing about 60, 65 mph and about 5 minutes into the ride, it just lost a lot of power. when i took the turn to my buddies house, my other friend was following me in a crown vic, and he almost beat coming off a corner and up to about 50. and there's no way that should happen. when i turned into my buddies yard, i pulled in the clutch to down shift and it stalled and i havent been able to get it started. i've checked the valve timing, it's good. it gets spark, the carbs got gas to them, and i took the carbs apart and they're clean for the most part. i took the head cover off and all the vavle springs and rocker arms are still there, not broken or anything. every once in a while, it will give a little backfire when trying to start it, but it never starts. any suggestions?

did you have a lot of damage?

well, my house is ok other than some shingles missing, thank god. but my shop didnt get so lucky. most of the roof is gone, the big doors are gone, the wall with my truck parts hanging on it was in my neighbors yard, and the paint booth roof is peeled back like a sardine can. so the weather down here is number one on my list of why to never live in the south under my own free will. the damage is very visible even two hours north of the coast. this was a bad one, and i was here for it. probably the coolest thing i've ever seen. but not in a hurry to see another one any time soon.
