Grizz clutch weights
#2
Lots of guys have put the weights from a 450 kodiak in, and it allows the engine to spin a bit higher, per mph. It lets the motor rev a bit harder, and provides a bit more oohmp at low mph. Downside is slow backshifting, and lower top speed.
Trouble is the system is balanced from the factory...which means the secondary spring and the centrifical clutch springs are all designed to work together, with thise original weights. If you just change one thing, there will be issues elsewhere...like back shifting.
Your best bet is to buy the kit, like from epi, which has all the springs and weights, matched, so it works with out hicups.
