1999 Wolverine Smoking
I own a 1999 Yamaha Wolverine that's been giving me problems pretty much since I bought it last summer. The main problem is that it smokes when I first start it up after it's been sitting for a while. It's been rebuilt twice now(it used to burn oil while running thanks to a pitted cylinder courtesy of the previous owner), and I had the valve seals replaced twice as well. It doesn't seem to burn oil while it's running now, but when it does smoke while starting it, there's enough blue smoke to fill the garage up. It doesn't stop smoking either until a few minutes after I've been riding, then it seems to clear up. Sometimes it blows out huge amounts of smoke at startup, and other times there's barely any smoke at all.
Can someone please give me a list of possibilities as to why this is happening? Could it be the valve guides letting oil leak down into the cylinder? Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks in advance for any help or tips to fix this problem.

like he said above. the rings will smoke after warm upon deceleration(no load). if you have problems with seals over and over i would suggest getting a valve job. new valves (2) , springs, keepers, and a decent machinest to fit them togethjer with the new seals. or do what i did with the lt230s i had , ignore it until the next rebuild!!
