Good quads for a 4 year old...
I bought an E-Ton for my son last Christmas. He was 4 1/2 at the time. At first he was little intimidated by it, but it didn't take long. I've slowly backed out the throttle limiter, and now he's constantly asking me to back it out more. He's going great on it!
They get good reviews for their reliability. I don't know how they compare against any of the big 3 models, but I think they fair well. Price is probably the biggest advantage, and since it's a starter bike, I figured once he was a little older then I would step up and get something a bit more agressive for him.

I second the e-ton. My 4 year old has a 40 cc Rascal. (See my page) I think they are called the viper jr now. The thing gets run the whole day without hickups. We've had it since 2001.
My buddy has a viper 90. It's the best 90 I have seen. Reverse, horn, lights etc.
My son (7) has a QJ 100. It is great for the money, but the viper has more frills.
The viper and the QJ is basically the same as thes cambler and the predetor 90.
