Is it just me or do machines seem to ride better in colder weather? to me in northern VA yesterday it felt like my blaster with mods had alot more go than it ussaly does in the warm summers/springs weather here around 50-60

 

They just run richer in cold weather...

 

Yes they do. I think the reason is that cold air is less dense that hot air and it flows better? Not sure exactly why but I have noticed it over the years.

 

counterpunch is right. why do you think racecars have cold air intakes?

actually they run leaner thats why it seems like its got more power, b/c the gas doesnt flow as fast during the cold than when its hot, thats y ppl lean their snowmobiles and stuff out bc it gives them more power

 

Actually the colder it gets the denser the air is which means your'e not getting as much air flow. You then are running richer in gas. Most people will notice a difference and it will seem to run better for a while until that plug gets to much of a build up on it. You should re-jet for winter an add a fuel stabilizer additive if it gets real cold.

 

Unless you can take it to a big feild and get it to WOT to clean the plug off. I've noticed a big difference with my RM 250. Expecially when I started to run the synthetic oil. It was like a whole new bike.
