Welcome to the forums and for that fact the world of Quads.

Best way to get your quad extra clean is to use this stuff called simple green. It's a bio-degradeable degreaser that works like magic on sand and dirt, a lil toothbrush action might be required, and after you rinse her off you want to let her sit for a couple of days before you fire her up. Also make sure you remove the airfilter and use a plastic bag like a shield over the exposed intake hole (use the air filter clamp to hold the bag in place). Also cover your pipe with a plastic bag, dont let any water get into your pipe.

Paddles: If you check out my pictures you'll see a Sand star/ Hauler set up. front fins are the sand stars and the back paddles are Haulers. This is the combo that has worked best for me. also the sand star back paddles do a good job but the straight edge of the haulers give them a physical advantage. IMO.
have fun out there in the sand. Peace!

Depending on what you are looking to do their are different kinds of paddles. If you are looking for a good hillclimb/sand drag bife go with skat trak haulers. Put a tube in them and they are great dune tires. A good all around tire are the skat trak extremes. A good front tire is the mohawk, made by srat trak.
