Inertia is realistically the only thing changing. Power wise would be negligable. With less inertia to overcome, the potential to rev faster is there. If everything else is the same the bike could be quicker, making you think you have more power [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]. I recommend some of those gel grips [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].

Default lightened raptor flywheel

Well from my experience with cars a lighter flywheel has a greater tendency to stall, revs quicker and also drops off in revs quicker. Physics is not a rumour, but perhaps the amount of weight removed isnt causing a dramatic effect on the ones you've done.

The flywheel wasnt the correct one for his bike, so he had to send it back. No one else, to my knowledge, recieved the flywheel and tested it.

Robertson Cycle has been lightening flywhels for the Raptor for 3 years. Call him if need some answers.

bump waht maddog says, hey flywheels changed through teh years, and the one i was sent only fits 2004-2005, my 02 is a dinosaur i guess, but she still has it.

Why dink with the flywheel? If you are getting beat, send your motor off to Craycraft.

My buddy says that a lightened flywheel causes your motor to stall or bog down.

Default lightened raptor flywheel

I know one guy that's going to try a Raptor motor without any flywheel at all. There is a lot of internal weight on the crank, it might be enough to keep the engine going when the clutch is dumped at high rpm.
