lightened raptor flywheel
Just got the call this afternoon from Trail tech, my girl over their is hooking me up with the prototype raptor flywheel the only one on the market, its a pound lighter than stock, 3lbs vs. 4 lbs. It should be here by friday i'll have it on and ready for my Thanksgiving gordons well trip, any raptor guys curious about how it is going to perform.

I've heard of a few people running flywheels with a few ounces removed, never a whole pound. The traditional deterrent to any lightening of the flywheel, let alone 1/4 of its weight is the very quick drop off in rpms when you let off the gas. If you've got your machine setup as a high-revving with a short powerband I can see where you'd see some benefit but only in drag racing situations. Trail riding and "putting around" would be considerably more difficult but not everyone needs that type of performance.
I'm very interested to see how it runs, please report back with your findings and opinions.

f*ck yeah it was kelly that hooked me up, i've been waiting almost a year for it, they had some minor problems with the threads on the flywheel and it should be fixed. please dont call her and bug her just yet about getting one, i have the only one im going to test it at gordons, and i'll call her on monday with a ride raptor after thanksgiving, and i'll also post it on here. She also says the output will increase but she isnt sure yet.
