Default Blaster Clutch problem Please Help

About 2 months ago we replaced the clutch cable on our blaster. An old clutch cable, sure its gonna break, so we put it on and it worked fine, but then a few weeks later just all of the sudden the clutch got about 3x harder to pull, and there was no indication of what went wrong or was going wrong, so tonight after I put a new 13 tooth sprocket on I went out for a ride to test it out, I was coming home, pulled the clutch to downshift, and the cable broke. Luckly I was close to home so I did not have to go far, I took the cable out and it slide smoothely. What could be making this happen, and most importantly what can I do to fix this so I don't have to replace the clutch cable every 2 months?

Thanks for the help.

After the cable broke I pulled the cable in and out, and it had very little resistance, but not enough to account for all of the extra force. I tryed to turn the lever assembly on the case and it was extremly hard to turn.

Make sure you don't have to much oil in the trans, more oil will cause a harder clutch pull, also, if you ever are in the vicinity of the clutch, check to see that your clutch basket, or the friction plates aren't broke.

Could running the an oil that is too high of a weight also cause this problem? I just found out today that I have been adding the wrong type of oil for the past 6 months so it is about half full of the wrong type of oil. It leaks a little oil so it is slowly going up and down from time to time.
Thanks for the help.
