Try using a small magnet or tip the quad on its side....

Hmmmm, the magnet didn't work????? Well you could try this.... Take a welding rod or a similar steel rod that will fit. take and mix up some J-B weld and put a dab on the end of the rod. Now carefully hold the rod with the J-B weld on the ball untill it sets up.. Then let it set overnight..
Next morning pull the rod out with the ball attached... This should only be done as a last resort..
Now if you do try this remember, if you put to much J-B weld on the rod you will never get it out.

If the rod is mushroomed on the clutch arm side you will probably have to split the case

More than likely the ball is welded to the rod and the rod end is mushroomed or even welded to the clutch arm..........
