It did very well amongst the Bombardier and the Kawasaki.
Only thing wrong with the article is that they say the EFI will compensate for a slip on exhaust.
3 things they didnt like about the bike were: Handle bars flexed, seat foam too soft, and front shocks sub par.

I believe Yamaha claims it will compensate for removing the airbox lid and removing the baffle, I think I saw one magazine say that Yamaha claimed it would work for a slip on. The users of the 700 claim that's not the case. I dont own one, so I cant say.
No suprise on the shocks vs the bomb, but I thought the overly cushy ride of the 700 (a factor of its weight) would yield to the 700.
