Default 700 vs TRX450R

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I'm trying to decide between the 450r and 700. I'm mostly going to use it for aggresive trail riding. From what I've read so far the 700 appeals to me because of the reverse, and being an all around machine, but being a Honda man, it's hard to be disloyal. Is the 450 more for racing? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yep, both 450 s (Honda and Yam...and Suzuki too soon) are built more for MX racing, jumping and so on.

I have had a few machines and the 700r is the best ATV i have ever owned. On the trails it is awesome.

If your a trail rider then the 700R is the way to go. These days all the brands are pretty good.

The Honda is very light and it would be easy to trail ride. And If you look up the results of the Baja 1000 that just finished last Friday, there sure were alot of MX quads that took all the top placings. I was suprised to see that in the pro Quad class the top 3 were all TRX450R's and 8 out of the 9 that finished were 45R's Not bad for a MX built Quad.

I guess he need to tell us what type of trails he will be riding. If it is trails out in the desert, I could see getting the 450R. But for tight wooded trails I would recommend the 700R.

Tight stuff like GNCC, 5 out of the top 10 for the season including #2 were 450R's. Dont get me wrong I love my Raptor and would not trade it, but I think the 450's are better all around bikes. They are just so light that they are easy to handle and throw around, for trail I would recomend a 450 of some sort. But it is all preferance, ride several if you can then make a choice. If you dont have that option then you will be happy with what ever you get cause you wont know any better, and sometimes ignorance is bliss!

Most of the riding would be trails through the woods and a near by sand pit. I'm 6'1 230 lbs and sort of a creature of comfort. I currently own a 650 Rincon, and absolutly love it, but use it mostly for work. As for top end speeds and adding any additional performance parts, I don't think I would be able to use all the available HP and speed that either quad bring to the table stock. Thanks for all the advice, and appreciate any more you have to offer.
