which 2001 raptors VIN# W/ tranny problems
I was looking through my paperwork trying to find what 2001 raptors had the tranny problems, if I remember right it was a certain number of them that could be identified w/ the VIN#. A neighbor of mine just got one and I told him I had it written down, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. If memory serves me correct it was something like if the VIN was under 5000 for the last 4digits than you had the bad tranny. Does that sound correct????
Thanks

So thats how it is ROOKIE, I'll have to remember that next time I write VIN# oops I did it again, I wrote that for short hand, Now that I know its your pet peeve I'll be sure not to write VIN# again, OOPS!!! sorry about that. Anyways hows that +4 MODQUAD swingarm working out for ya?? My neighbor is looking for a way to keep his front end down on his new to him raptor, and get this wanted to weigh the front end down w/ weights. I told him he had a couple of options to do it right either sit up on the tank more, or get a longer swingarm. He asked how much and I gave him a round figure off the top of my head of $400. Is that about right for your swingarm???

I paid $725 for mine. It included the swingarm, carrier, brake plate, extended brake line and clamp, and new chain slider. It helped alot for climbing steep hills. It also seems to help with side-to-side stability. Not sure why or how, but it is nice that it isn't so tipsy. I guess maybe it lowered the center of gravity or something like that. My only upset is that I can't bring the front up as easily, but with a cam and maybe some other slight mods I am sure I can overcome that no problem. $400 sounds about right for just a swingarm, but tell your friend he will most likely need the other stuff I mentioned as well. Also I have been tryin to find info on the VIN thing with the 01's, but I can't really seem to find an answer. You might have to do more searching then I did, and go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the posts to get an answer, assuming it is still on the board. Maybe someone else can chime in with more info. Good luck.

Its his first quad, he claims to have ridden a couple rm125's is his day. He's only ridden it around the yard which I told him it isn't enough room to let the raptor stretch its legs to see what she'll do. So this weekend I'm gonna take him out to a pit and let him tear it up and we'll see if he keeps the raptor.
