98 Wolverine breaking up under acc.........NEED HELP!!
I just bought a 1998 Yamaha Wolverine last week for a pretty good deal (or what I thought was). The guy I got it from said it had been sitting for a while so he changed the gas as well as the oil before I bought it. When I went to look at it, it fired right up and I took it for a short ride around his block. It seemed fine UNTIL, I loaded my quad up to go riding last Sat. I got it into my truck with no problem, but when I went to take it off the truck it was running like s%$t. It fires right up, but when you give it gas, whether in gear or in neutral, it breaks up and startss backiring out the muffler. It has absolutely no power. I replaced the spark plug with the Yamaha's NGK specified one, and cleaned out the airbox which had little to no dirt in it to begin with. Today I took the carb off, and cleaned the hell out of it. After thoroughly cleaning it I shot compressed air into the lines and nothing seemed clogged up. I also removed the exhaust and it had no obstructions. Now I'm here to ask the experts. PLEASE HELP!!!
