Default Hours/Miles for servicing

Just bought a new Raptor and was wondering how everyone keeps track of their hours for servicing /changing oil. I was thinking of buying a Tech Trail computer - Are they any good/easy to fit?

Please can you help as I am new to off roading!!

Many thanks

I go by how much gas I use. About every 3-4 tanks is time for a change depending out how I was riding. I get about an hour per gallon under normal riding and it's a 3 gallon tank, so that gets me right to the 10 - 12 hour mark. I think how much gas you use is a better judge anyway. If you are riding hard, you go through the gas faster, and therefore need to change the oil/filters sooner.

Yes, always change the filter when you change the oil.

First, really good questions Jackstraker.
I think a Trail Tech puter is a really good idea. Or you can put a simple small hour meter on it. Your call.
About interval:
If you ride an average of 10MPH in 10 hours you will only have about 100 miles on your oil. I personally think dumping oil at 10 hours is wasteful. Some dissagree.
I don't know what the Yamaha manual says but my Kawaski manual says 100 hours before oil change. Now if your ride at 10MPH you will have about 1000 miles on your oil. That is well within reason for an oil change for an off road vehicle.
Just my 2 cents.

I've always just went by the color of the oil. When it starts to get a little dark I change it(usually 250 miles with my warrior, but the bigger raptor motor might break down the oil quicker)
