Default Grizzly owners

Some people talk about the unseady feeling they get with their Grizzly (or any IRS machine) on off chambers.......Do you get this more than other machines? Is it just a feeling that is somewhat false? Have you overcome it in some way?
I really like the Grizzly ride quality, and have not been considering one because of this, and wanted to ask Grizz owners for the real scoop on it. Thanks!

Going from a 400 ex to any IRS quad will feel unsteady at first. I went from a Warrior to the Grizzly and it took a little getting used to. After getting the Grizz I put ITP mudlites and Series 5 wheels on it and that helped alot. I also adjusted the shocks up two clicks and the improvment was very noticable. With some riding time under my belt now I think it handles great. To me the benefit of the IRS makes it worth it. Now when I ride a Warrior it feels like a pogo stick on the bumps.

Yes aftermarket tires and rims will sturdy the GRIZ up , its almost a must that you buy them anyway for whatever brand Quad you buy . People that dont and are aggressive riders, you will ussually find them along side the trail with a sidewall flat.

there are 4 things you can do

1),,,you get use to it after a while,,,you wont even notice it anymore
2),,,go to a 6 ply tire,which will stiff'n up the side wall
3),,,get a set of wheel spacers that will wid'n the wheel base up to 3 inch's
4),,,if you think you may purchase an after market set of rims,,,consider the 14 inch rims,,,they will reduce the amount of sidewall on the tire,,,,,but with the 14 inch rim,you will be limited to the amount of tires to choose from (for now,the 14's are still relitivly new)

if you get the Grizz,you wont be disappointed,,,,they have a boat load of agter market goodies to choose from to personalize your bike,,,as far as utility bikes go,,,,the Grizz leans way more to the Sport side than any other,,,just an all round fun machine

but as all bikes,the tires that come with it new are crap,,,,i think they do this to keep the price down,and also create a market for after market products

You'll get used to it. Remember on your old three wheeler when you tried to turn it and the front tire would just kind of skid along the ground side ways. Eventually you learned that if you gave it some gas leaned to the inside it would spin like a top. Just like the old trikes riding IRS units just take a little getting used to, but its a nice ride once you get it all sorted out. The Grizz is a really good ride especially if it gets muddy or rocky.

I bought the Twin Peaks first and then the Grizzly. I never feel like I'm going to tip and have been on a lot of off-camber situations. The only thing I don't like and this may be on all IRS machines is going up a real steep hill. I went up a small one with both bikes, one right after another to compare, the Twin Peaks felt like much more stable. I bet you can overcome this by setting the rear suspension to the stiffest setting. Mine is one click from the softest.
I really like the Grizzly so far. The ride is very plush and you have no worries in the tranny department. I would like some more low end grunt. This is compared to the Twin which isn't a fair comparison. Some people put a pipe and rejet for more low end. I thought about this but as I get older, quieter is better.
You will also like the 4x4 engagement. It is very fast and you can do it one the fly. I put aftermarket tires on for the winter and when I know I will be in deep mud. Otherwise, I leave the stocks on. I have gone through some nasty terrain with the stocks and not even spun. I would encourage doing the same, that way your tire life is long.
