Yfz450 vs 700 Raptor..ATV Action settles it!

ha ha ha. Exactly. I use to be a honda guy myself. The quality is excellent, and there attention to detail is great. But there slogan "performance first" is just flat out WRONG. Performace is never first when it comes to them.
I think they make a fine product, but as far as performance goes yamaha has the nod. Its that way with street bikes too (between the two companies). It was that way with dirtbikes, and mostly still is, but there crf450 has proven to be a monstor, and a force to recon with. Hopefully this year it will be reconed with, with the new kx450 coming out and the totally redone yz450.
Honda may have had the nod for performance on the crf450, but they sacrificed what they where based off of "good quality" to get it done. I hear a lot of guys having problems with there motors on those things, oil and rings related.

I like our 700R. It is what my wife rides and she loves it even more. I am a DS man. After riding the DSpig, the other bikes feel kind of buzzy and harsh. The 700R is impressive though. It pulls away from 450R's stock. Your buddy here isn't the only guy to get taken by a Honda shop. I can understand why he is pissed. After being told by a Honda salesman that it would spank a YFZ, then getting his a$$ handed to him week after week, that would be tough to live with. It isn't like you can go out and buy another quad that is actually fast at the age of 21. The payments on the first one have to be burden enough as it is. I feel for ya 1bad450r. I really do.
Worst thing about buying a used Honda is the plastics have all been sandblasted so bad.

Just a quick response. I literally have never seen a fast TRX450R. I have seen many of them on the Oregon coast. Not one of them has impressed me on comp hill. 1bad450r, no one ever said a stock DS. I simply made the point that I was outrunning piped Honda's after only a $1,000 in upgrades on comp hill. So dollar for dollar the DS is faster since the Honda costs about a grand more than a DS after you purchase a pipe for it.
I do have respect for TRX's but respect is best placed in a bike's strengths. In every race someone has to bring up the rear or there wouldn't be any winners. Honda is top notch at bringing up the rear. I respect them for that.

BTW, SuperYFZ450. Noticed you just joined about an hour ago. Did 1bad450r pay you to join the forum and say that or are you just a buddy of his. I wouldn't count on a career in politics just yet boys. Not many serious forum members jump into a mix, handing out advice and insults in their first post.
Nice Try 1bad450r.
Also 1bad450r, look at the DS in my signature. Next time you are in Oregon at the dunes, pm me. You have a standing invite to a couple of free passes at the hill. This is your chance to prove me wrong about Hondas.

1bad,
You haven't learned to debate with civility yet. You are correct that a DS cannot keep up on the track with the 450's. It has an advantage on the endurance races like the Baja series, though. It has its place.
I appreciate your acceptance to a drag race at a future date. (I won't hold my breath for the pm though)
You have to admit that little stunt about getting your buddy to sign on to the forum to support you was a little transparent though. Go ahead and refute it if you feel the need. I was 21 once and I know you are just having a good time.
Carry on and have fun!

Excellent Post. I do respect you now. (You have to admit the sandblasting thing was pretty funny though)

Wow 135boom and 1bad450r what a waste of typing. 135boom all i can judge is that your some kid that does alot of reading to pose that you own these atv's I some how doubt that you do and that u should relize all those magazines are quite a bunch of crap at times. In a real race stock for stock u will fine the the yfz has the first three gears over the 700 after that the 700 passes. U say that u "back up" your "facts" Bah your facts seem to be a bunch of sh!te cause you no nothing but numbers and magaize articles. All i can say a picture is worth a thousand words and a vid alot more. Which you have none It would also seem to me since you have so much confindence in the yfz n seem like a show off u'd b posting pictures and such if you ACTUALLY own them.
