Default removing oil injection

If I removed the oil resvoir tank from my blaster would I have to do anything else so there would be no oil injection. I know if there is no oil it is obvious but wouldn't the pump still run or would i have to remove that as well. The only reason I don't want to buy the block off kit is because I don't want to pay for shipping to Canada

Default removing oil injection

i had a 300 Explorer that had the oil mix pump,,,,,the pump failed, and fried the top end,,,,,i just had the top end rebuilt, and never messed with the pump,,,,all i did was just start pre-mixing the oil,and gas the ole fashioned way,and forgot that money trap ever exisited

the way i looked at it was,,,i wasnt going to pay money to fix something that ultimatly was going to fry my motor again,,,,hope this helps some

all I wanted to know it was ok to leave the pump the way it is and just have no oil going to it....your pump didn't work but i don't think it would matter
Thanks

Default removing oil injection

im not sure but i think the oil the pump pumps,is also lubercating the pump itself as well,,,,if your pump is still good,it may ruin the pump to be running without any oil,,,,,my pump was already toast, which caused the engine fry,so i didnt have anything to lose

if your pump is still good,it might be wise for resale reasons to keep it that way

did you try talking to a tech at the Yammy shop? the guys at my local shop are always willing to offer up advice

Ya I'll give one of them a call tomorrow and see what they have to say. I'm not looking to get any money off of the parts I'm not gonna be using so if the pump goes i won't mind lol.

what i meant was when you decide to sell the bike itself it would be a plus if the pump was still OK,even if it wasnt being used

mine was a Polaris,so i cant speak of first hand of the Yamaha one,,,,but the Polaris pump was pretty pricey,,,as worthless as it was
