yamahaa warrior with a starter problem
#1
i have the older series yamaha warrior. I bleieve it be a 1996 model. Heres the problem the electric start works. You hit the button to start and it wont start so i bought a new whole switch, and a brand new battery. The electric start only works when the quad is already working and the light switch is between the medium and high setting. If you jump the selenoid it starts right up. Do you think it is the sylenoid or some other wiring problem. Oh yeah the reverse light is on and when the starter works when the sylenoid makes a clicking noise. It starts witht the electric start if you jump the sylenoid, and starts without any hesitiation. ANy suggestions are appreciated

with all that it sounds like you have more than one problem with your electrical system. I'd start by testing the solenoid, and replacing it if it acts abnormal. If it only works with the light switch in a certain position you probably have a pinched wire, loose wire, or short with the starter button and light swtich.
