Default Any downsides to the Dynatech CDI??

I am about to purchase a Dynatech FS for my 450 and am wondering if there are any negatives that I am unaware of. All input is welcomed. Thanks!

I have been doing some research on them. My dad is thinking of putting one in his Twin peaks. From what I have read and heard, no one has anything bad to say about them.

The prairie 700's have had a helluva time with bad dyna units, there are quite a few out there I'd shop around first for that machine.

Oh, havnt heard that one. The copperhead VDI is coming out here soon, and they are suppost to have some more mid range. You think it would be worth the extra hundred for one of those?

I think vortex may have a unit, I know dyna does and the copperhead is due out as you say. I dont think the copperhead is worth 100 bucks more, maybe 25 but certainly not 100. I suppose if I was going to buy one tomorrow it'd be a dyna, but it has it's problems. There are also wire in boxes for these utes like the dg holeshot, highlifter module, etc. Just wanted to suggest to you to look at all of your options and make sure you have an easy way to send the dyna back if need be.

What do you mean about sending it back?

Dyna has some problems with the cdi units for the kawasaki v-twins, the yfz units appear to work fine from what I've heard and seen.

By sending it back I meant make sure he had a way to get it replaced under warranty if it went bad.

The highlifter and moose module etc only work from 0-7mph. They take out the low end lag that Kawi puts in the bike. He wants the CDI, so he can get power throughout the whole band and not just low end. The dealer we would buy the unit off of is pretty good about stuff like that, so we would not have any problems sending the Dyna back.
