Default Grizzly breakdowns

I am surprised at the amount of breakdowns with Yamaha Grizzly's axles etc. I had big plans on
purchasing a new 2006 Griz this spring, but am wondering if this is the atv I want. Lordy it seems
to be one thing after another and with not alot of satisfaction from Yamaha. Are most of the axle
failures caused from jumping or doing wheelies. I just ride and slow speeds mostly, with some
difficulty of unstable rocky trails. Maybe a King Quad instead?

One thing to remember is that this is an ATV forum. This is where a lot of people come for answers to their problems, which is why you see a lot of what look like major problems here.
Think of it this way...How many Grizzlys has Yamaha sold? How many people have mentioned axle problems here?
I will let you do the math.

I'm not angry, or venting in any way...Just trying to put it into perspective.

I own a 04 Griz and I have broke a front axle, BUT purely of my own stupidity I was hung up on a stump and let my pride get in the way of letting my buddy pull me off I rocked back and forth until my front tire got traction and it snapped.

I ride my wheeler very hard and I am not a small guy 280# and this is the only problem I have ever had and it was my own stupidity that cost me $$.

You can't listen to only the negatives as every company has had problems, and will continue to have their little niches that sometimes need to be overlooked as hopefully the good far outweighs the bad.

I just bought an 05' Grizz. I did alot of research and talked to alot of great people on here about all the bikes. The way I look at it is if that is the only weak point of the bike save the money up and buy the bigger Gorilla Axles. I have been in acouple mud holes with mine so far all stock with a buddy riding bitch, total of about 450lbs. and have not got stuck YET!! But I do know its coming!!! I watched a special on TV about all the new Bikes and even the PROS!!! said it was really hard to pick a bike that stood out because they all were great bikes. But on the other hand all bikes will have little quirks about them. Good Luck

each quad out in the market has it's flaws... there aint one bike thats perfect. i personally had/have no problems with my grizz and it takes a ton of beating.... plus its all stock. ive been through mud... water... rocks.... dust... dirt....sand..... snow.... and ice and have not had any problems so far besides getting stuck (every1 gets stuck, if not then they arnt riding hard enough, lol). i think that the grizz is a proven machine but its not unbreakable... and neither is any other quad out there.

A big thanks, and I do monitor and participate in the atv forums, however I am older and not
so knowledgeable as some of you who grew up with the bikes. It is just like cars and trucks,
there are some lemons in the orchard. I grew concerned when I notice alot more problems
with the axle than usual. Again thanks.

i have to agree with what everyone has posted, ecspecially about the part where if they havnt been stuck, they havnt really been testing it

we have a mud hole here that has swollowed every bike that has ever attempted it,,,,,i had a $50 bet with my buddy that my Grizz would do it with a couple upgrades,,,,about 2 grand later it made it through it,,,makes me laugh everytime i say it,,,but true

i had Mudzillas on it when i made it through it,but they were way too agressive for everyday riding,so i bought a set of Bear Claws

went back one day with the Claws on,and they goded me into trying it again, well the hole swollered me up,but i had a blast just the same

if you aint testing the limits, your not riding it,,,your putt'n it
