i have a 2001 yamaha warrior, and it doesnt run right at all.... it will start and run untill it gets hot then it just shuts off on me.... I think it is the cdi box, but idk and i dont wanna replace it yet cause its an expensive part... im just wondering if anybody has had the same prob with their warrior, and if so what you did to fix it.... or if anyone has any suggestion on what to do to fix it. any help is very much appretiated!! thanks a lot and have a very merry christmas!!!

 

How long does it run before it shuts off... I mean it can be anything from Your gas cap not letting air in and it is vapor locking. To your CDI box... I mean give me a little more info.. does it run good when it is cold...If you decide to get a CDI box let me know i have a good stock one i will sell....

 

What makes you think that it is the cdi box? To verify, when it quits, pull the plug, reconnect plug wire, ground spark plug, turn engine over, and check for spark. No spark=electrical. Spark=fuel related.

well it runs for like ten minutes then just starts runnin like crap.... it could be the gas cap... never even thought of that.... well i havent even pulled it out lately cause i got a dirtbike and all ive done is been racin that. ill try to get more info for you guys asap... anymore help is appreciated
how much for that cdi box if it is that?

 

You can proably get a used cdi on ebay for around $50, a new one from the yamaha dealer is probably 6 times that much

 

yea.... they are like 400 from the dealer!!! ill prolly just geta rev box! my friend can get me one for 40 bucks brand new

yea....... i put a new spark plug in it, and new spark plug cap, a new coil, a new starter selinoid...
