Default Raptor motor problem

Good news and bad.

Good news is that I got it to rev up. Took all the connectors apart and cleaned every one of them. Found that the nuts holding the ignition box on were about to fall off, so I cleaned all the box conectors as well. Put them all back together except for the parking brake one in the front and started it up. It revs beautiful now. It really sounds good. Put the parking brake connector back together and started it again. Still runs good and revs fine. So I don't know for sure which connector it was but that deffanantly is where the problem was.

The bad news is that I can now see bubbles coming up in the over flow tank. Does it even at idle. It probably only ran for a minute or two and got the head pipe glowing about 6 inches down the pipe. and that was with the air box lid on.

I am going to try and get a cometic gasket with the fire ring, need to figure out where to find one. A set of 25 or 27.5 pilots and 160, 165, 170, 175 jets.

What jets and pilots come in the GYTR jet kit?

Thanks for everyones help.

i would start with a baseline of around a 27.5 pilot and a 155/160 jet 3rd clip. and take the damn lid off.

Sounds kinda lean with the lid off and a stage 2 cam. Especially since it's cold in nebraska. I say 27.5 pilot, middle needles, and 170/175 mikuni jets. Go to 165/170 if it sputters.

I ordered two 30 pilots, 160, 165, 170, and 175 jets. With the 30 I figured I can screw it in a little if it needs it.

The lid is not staying on, I just put it back on tring to richen the idle up running it in the shop. It is way lean at idle right now as it is.

I also ordered a Cometic head gasket. It is the HP series one and they have an extra bore shim to give it more sealing pressure around the bore. Bad thing is (what they told me) that if the head is overtorqued it will warp the head. I have a good snap on torque wrench so that should't be a problem. Gasket only was like $36 I think.

I have the Cometic # if anyone wants it. I just had Ripper racing order it for me, they do not stock it though.

I want to ride this thing a little this winter so I will probably go a little fat on the jets to start with.
