Default flashing reverse light

hi, i'm new to forums so be kind!
i have a 2003 raptor with a few mods and very happy with it.one strange thing i have noticed is when it has been idleing for a while and given some short revs the reverse light starts to flash on and off. anybody know about this?
also have a misfire midrange but am about to clean the carb.

Flashing light typically means your bike is idleing too high, any sustained high idle over 1500 rpms or so will trigger it.

no, it only flashes when it has been idleing for a while and then i give it a few hard revs!
have also been told that it is the rev limiter, but am not sure about this.anybody any views on this?

Your idle is to high. If you are idling around 2000 rpm for around 1 minute the reverse light will flash. Turn you idle down to 1450 to 1550 rpm.

up on your clutch perch, where you parking brake is...their is a wire coming out of goign behind the nose peice, chase that wire down(behind the left headlight) its a two prong connector and unplug it. also ensure your connection is tight on your reverse light, its located down by your front sprocket its a little black plug goign to the case,
