Default High Compression Raptor 700!!

I was wondering how much difference it would make if you put Trinity's 12 to 1 High compression piston kit on the Raptor 700? Thanks Mace

I would say it would make quit a bit of difference. Both the yfz and trx 450's run that high of compression.

the gains would be minimal, since you are still running the stock exhaust. However, if you put a exhaust on their and change the cams, that is where the 12:1 is really going to shine. Right now for you its not worth running 100 octane for the gain your going to get.

I ran my 700 awhile with spark arrestor and air box lid removed but no efi controller and I was impressed with the power gain. Going from 9:1 to 12:1 compression will make a big differance, for around $200 I my opinion, if you dont mind pulling your cylinder would be a pretty good bang for the buck.

CT racing how much more difference would it make with a full system pipe and maybe an intake system? Raptor 734 how much difference was there between when you just had the airbox lid and spark arrestor removed then when you went to the full system exhaust?

I went up about 50cc and to 12:1 compression when I went to a full exhaust. But I have a friend with intake, Dobeck and full gytr exhaust, there is a gain from just running with the lid and arrestor removed. His bike doesnt compare to mine, the 50cc helps but I would say the big jump in compression is what really wakes things up. Thats my opinion

raptor 734, you need to know that all the power gains your received, none came from the 50cc more. you gain power by stroking the motor. just boring your sleeve 50cc more and your not going to notice much. all of your power gains could have VERY EASILY been acheived on a stock bore 700r with the same porting, piston and commander unit. ive said this MANY time before you dont have to have a big bore to make power.

yfz i would never purchase a slip on exhaust for the raptor, always get the full exhaust.

So you are saying "none came from the 50cc more" man i must be an idiot for going with the bigger bore. Did you notice I mentioned the compression might have something to do with the power gain. I am curious why you are wanting to waste your money on a kenz built 686?

I am not wanting to start an argument with you CT because i have noticed you have quite a few posts on here and you probaly know what you are talking about. But I would think boring would have to help with HP, Torque, and Speed.

no, boring doesnt really do anything for your hp, the power comes from several ways

STROKING
porting
cams
carbs
and getting this set-up to run/FLOW correctly.,

kenz has a 67hp stock bore raptor that would had you your a$$ in a race,
mr.hp had a 70hp stock bore ds650 that dominates kenz's raptor.

I TELL YOU PEOPLE ITS ALL THE THE HEAD!!!

these two bikes i've personally seen race(and so can you by the dvd)
they are able to hange with the stroked motors even

now the reason, im boring to the 686 range, is i have a 02 raptor that ive been riding HARD since 2001. 2 years ago i put in a new piston with a .10 bore making it a 666r. now its time for a new piston, my choices are 673 or 686. would it make you feel better if i got a 673 kit????

now you run your 700r for 5 years and i mean hard for 5 years and see how many pistons you chew through.

im going big bore by force not by choice....

if i had a 05 raptor(which i dont) i would rather build a screaming stockerthen a big bore, nothing is worse then getting it handed to you on a hill by a stock bore bike.......
