Is the rear diff on a wolvy locked? When 4x4 is used is it locked front to rear? In 4x4 mode on flat level ground if you go from stopped to WOT will it spin the tires or will the auto trans just wind up and slip? Thanks.

The front is an open diff.....meaning if one wheel loses traction in the front......its the wheel that all the power will go to.
The auto trans on the Yamaha's dont wind up and slip.

4x4 mode is just that..........in 4x4 mode your rear acts just like it does all the time.
the front is open so sometimes both fronts spin and sometimes only one front wheel will spin.
in 2wd mode the fronts dont get any power.

OK, when in 4 wheel drive mode is the front and rear drive shafts locked togeather or do they both get power but not locked togeather. just like the rear end is locked, and the front diff puts power to both front wheels but they are not locked.
