2005 Kodiak 450 Float Adjustment

2005 Kodiak 450 Float Adjustment
Tried to start the Kodi last weekend, and it barely ran...I found that gas was pouring from the overflow hose.
I removed the carb only to find a mostly clean needle and seat...I am thinking that the float level is possibly messed up.
Does anyone know the specs on the float level and what to use as a reference point when measuring?

I think we're thinking its not the float adjustment. It was ok, last week....no one opened up the float bowl, or touched the float...and now it leaks . Id sure suspect a peice of dirt or crud was holding the needle and seat open. Id clean the needle and seat real good, put it back together...and itll probably work.
But heres the info you wanted
Hold the carb upside down, float bowl off. Measure the distance from the mating surface of the float chamber(gasket removed) to the top of the float. The arm should be resting on the needle valve, but not compressing it. It should be 13 mm, or .51". They dont give a range, just 13mm.
It helps to leave the float bowl empty when its going to sit for more than a day or two, and try to use only pure gas. It even says in my kawasaki owners manual to not store any motor, using ethenol blended fuel. The stuff evaporates and leaves behind deposits, which plug jets and leaves readue on the needle and seat...causing problems.
It can be a real pain, trying to find pure gas in MN in the winter, so the best solution is to leave the float bowl dry, by turning the gas to off, and running the motor til it dies, before letting it sit.
