Default Raptor Hotrod crank rod & piston kit?

Looking for comments from anyone using or know someone who is using the +4mm 720cc stroker kit from Hotrod. Looks like a decent kit since the crank & rod & piston should all be balanced making it a drop in & go assembly with no machining required.

They must be using a shorter rod with an offset crank & offset piston wristpin. This would explain the need for a custom piston & I assume it has a shortened skirt as well. Apparently its only available in a 102mm/686cc 10.5:1. I hope they plan to offer other sizes/comp down the road.

I am not sure if its balanced. I have had them done(stock cranks with good rods) by Falicon and it aint cheap. I dont know if they are even welded. There are other stroker options out there. Barker has a set up that gives the same displacement and uses off the shelf pistons. I know Kenz has used some Hot Rod kits you could try them. Craycraft has used the Barker setup. Give them both a call to see how they are working out.

Scholle is right, there are a couple of different options to do the stroker. Using the Barker setup is nice because you can use any piston. For that reason alone, it is worth really considering.

I have the HotRods 4mm and can give you some info on it. It is not welded from the factory, I advise getting it welded. As far as I know, they are not individually balanced from the factory, but then again with a stroker you are not going to be turning really high rpms. HotRods is probably cheaper, but it is so far unproven in its reliability. If mine blows, then we will know...lol.
