K+N Filter rumor?

So since most of the foam equipped bikes run a pre-filter where does that leave them? Wouldn't there still be a flow advantage for cotton?

Default K+N Filter rumor?
I run a k&n filter with outerwear when I race in sand or dusty conditions....when racing at night on the dirt drag tracks I don't even run the outerwear. Never had a problem.
