Default Edelbrock carb on warrior

Any one have a Edelbrock carb on there warrior? I have a pretty much all stock engine on my warrior except for the wiseco 10.5:1 piston and a cobra exhaust. How would this carb perform on my warrior? would it even be worth putting on my quad? I can get on brand new from ebay for $349.00 Any ony have any info?

I have one! If you can afford it, get it!. The only other performance mods I had before the edelbrock were an hmf slip on, and a uni filter with opened up airbox. I barely felt any power gains from my exhaust, but the edelbrock made a night-and-day difference in power, and the smoothness and ridability of the machine. You've probably noticed that if you hit the throttle quick on any warrior with a stock carb, it will hesitate, bog out, and mine would even stall out sometimes. Now I can punch the throttle as quick as I want and the response is instant. It's also much easier to rejet(only 2 circuits, a **** on top of the carb for idle-1/3 throttle, and swapping out the needle for 1/3-full throttle). That was a major selling point for me, since I hate jetting and the stock carb was a POS to work with. And they look great too!

You have to modify the thumb throttle housing to get WOT, but you can do that ahead of time so when you get the carb you can bolt it right on. You'll probably have to adjust the jetting, and maybe the accelerator pump. It's not hard though, and the instructions that come with the carb are pretty good and have pictures.

It came with everything you will need except basic hand tools and a longer fuel line. It includes a new intake manifold and spacer, new bolts for the manifold, a motion pro throttle cable, an idle cable, 3 needles(16, 18, & 20), the instructions, and a useless piece of fuel line that's too big for the warrior's petcock.

Congratulations on your purchase! It comes with the 18E needle installed, which is what i'm using. It might be a little bit on the rich side on warmer days, but when it's freezing outside it's perfect. Unless you modify your airbox lid or get a clamp on filter and remove the lid i'd recommend starting with the 16E needle (should be perfect for you). The jetting is explained in the instructions. I did most of my jetting based on how smoothly it ran, and did some plug chops just to check it.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but rcm exhausts suck. They're too loud, sound crappy, don't give power gains, and they are built poorly and the mounts break often. You'll probably be buying a better exhaust a few months after having the rcm.

It's hard to say what size jet you need, it's a trial-and-error thing. Put the exhuast on, see how it runs and what color the spark plug is, and change the jetting accordingly. My guess would be that you will need to go up to a 147.5 main jet from the stock 145, but that's only a guess.

Hey, maffitt,

If you want a better exhaust cheap, I have a slightly used HMF blue anodized slip on that looks like new, ran it for a little while on my Wolverine, but it has a bit more bark than I like for my "utility" type riding, but I'm pretty picky about exhaust noise. I'll sell it to you for 120 plus shipping. Let me know what you think.
