The other week we where on a long beach ride when my raptor developed an engine vibration, not taking any chances I had my freind with his 700 tow me back to camp the last 4 miles. After all the stirring and embarassment had finished we could not work out what the problem was. I have started looking into the reason why now, firstly I thought the oneway had come loose so had all that apart, all good there. Next I decided I would check the valves and do a compression test, this is when I noticed my top engine mount broken through. Has any one heard of this before, and should i gusset up this one or replace it?

 

usually when an upper mount breaks it's because the lower mounts aren't torqued down tight enough. If you checked them i'd get a new one and gusset it before you install it.
