12 tooth front?
I put a 12 on my Banshee because I ride in the woods and with the stock gearing I never got higher than 3rd gear before I had to back off because of was going so fast. So I figured gearing down would give me more low speed punch and allow me to actually use those top 3 remaining gears. But I will admit this is on a Banshee which has rocketship top end and a powerband that will peel your face off, but nearly nothing on the bottom, so lower gearing lets that power kick in earlier. Your Raptor has a more even powerband so it might not be such an issue. Changing a front sprocket is no big deal just to give it a try, and they aren't real expensive, as long as you have enough chain adjustment to not need to take links out of your chain.

What size rear tires do you have? Taller rear tires have the same effect as a larger front sprocket. So far the best gearing setup I tried on my Warrior with 22" tires was 14/40. I could get up to about 66 mph on the 'turnpike' at Tower City with a dying clutch and before I had my edelbrock installed. (I'm hoping for around 72 now) Look at my picture gallery to see what the 'turnpike' is
Assuming you also have 22" rear tires, i'd say a 14t front sproket is the highest you would be able to go while keeping the motor in the powerband in 6th gear.
You don't have to worry too much about losing low end power from high gearing with the warrior in stock form. With the stock cam the Warrior pulls like a tractor.
