If it is truely welded on then you can drill it out and then tap out a new bolt size.

Default oil plug problem

the warrior's drain plug isn't like one on a car, which is basically a bolt with a larger than normal head. The plug is about 2 inches across. I have a feeling you think just the hex head is the whole drain plug, when it's acutally that head plus the skirt around the outside. I don't think anybody would be that flat-out dumb to weld a drain plug in place. Warrior drain plugs do have a tendency to get stuck. If you can't get it off with a socket and breaker bar, try using a chisel and a hammer to make a groove in the skirt of the drain plug, and put the chisel into the groove at an angle to get the plug to break loose. This took me about 10 minutes to get broken loose, but at least it works.

After you get it out, go to a powersports shop and get a new one. The replacements my shop sells have a knurled skirt, so when it gets stuck you can break it loose by putting a flat screwdriver against one of the knobbies at an angle, and hit the driver with a hammer.

Same thing happened with me as recon99 said, but mine took about 20 min though. Also, it cant be welded unless its a different plug from stock or what they give u because u cant weld aluminum(the pug) and metal(the engine) together.

I figured that's what was going on. It's not hard to understand how you made that mistake.

You guys forgot the biggest tip of all for Warriors (or yamaha drain plugs in general) ...buy yourself a 6 point socket BEFORE you slip using a 12 point.

Same here using the 6, then it went into a circle. Also, YamahaRider8998, get the right size in metric and dont force american size on it, or it will last shorter. (thats what the previous owner did to me!)
