Default do i have to remove the plastic gear?

if i just take the oil injection pump off of my blaster and leave the gear in it would it be ok? or should i just pay $30 for the block off kit? I'm getting an aftermarket carb so i have to remove it.

Remove the clutch side cover, then remove the pin and the plastic drive gear off of the oil pump. Reinstall the cover, with the gear removed the oil pump will function as the block off plate.Plug the hole on the carb, remove the rest of the oil inj. crap and cut the oil lines flush with the side cover. After refilling the trans. with oil you are ready for premix.Save that 30.00 for something else like a adj. stator plate.
