2000 Yamaha Warrior Carburetor Problems?
#1
I have a 2000 Yamaha Warrior that will only run if I have the choke fully open. I have tried cleaning the carburetor several times with no luck. Could ther be some other problem besides the carbuetor that would cause this problem, or am I missing something in the carb?

Well Belive it or not...If your emergency brake is hung up just a little...It will cut out an sputter really bad.......But you mite have just a little something stuck in your main jet....Does it ideal ok? look at your brake make sure it is all the way out... and let me know..

It idles if I leave the choke fully open, if I push it to half choke or no choke it dies immediately. I will check the brake tonight. I have had the carburetor apart three times and sprayed it out with crab cleaner plus ran pipe cleaners through every hole I colud.
Thanks

Fully closed or fully open? If you mean when the choke is on, itll run, but when the choke is off, it will die, then it sounds like a plugged pilot jet.The main jet has no effect at idle.
It has to be unscrewed, and cleaned. Try to look thru it like looking down a straw...if you dont see the light at the end of the tunnel, then its still plugged. It might be real stubborn, and if you cant get it totally cleaned out, go buy a new one. A pipe cleaner wont fit in the center hole of the pilot jet, you might want to try a single strand of copper wire from a 20 or 18 gauge stranded wire. Its a very tiny hole, and thats why its always the first hole to plug up.

yeah its sounds like the pilot jet to me as well. I had the same problem with mine when I bought it. I just took off the carb, removed the float bowl, sprayed a little carb cleaner in the pilot then took my air compressor (has a little rubber thing on the end that fit in the hole nicely) and blew it out. You could hear the thing fly out, it looked like a little tiny yellow buger. =) Runs like a champ now.

I have double checked and the jets are open, I had it running with the choke on and throttled up but if I do half choke or choke off it dies immediatly. Could there be something else wrong besides the carb or am I missing something in the carb? I have cleaned the fuel tank and filters, air cleaner and carb. Could a problem in the engine cause these symptoms.
Thanks
