Raptor 700 Best sand Tires and WHY?????
I'm running 22x11x8 8-paddle extreme haulers on mine with .125 wheels. This has been a great combo for the stock gearing. Very good off the line...2nd gear starts and I'm still having a hard time keeping the front from coming up. (when drag racing).
As far as 22" tires vs 20" tires goes... I never thought I'd like the 22's, but for soft rutted up sand, the extra ground clearance makes a big difference when climbing steep hills and tree shots...no more using your swingarm skid as an anchor. The one trade off with the 22" extremes is that they don't turn or slide out as easily as a set of 20" tires will. I'm very happy with my tire choice. If I find some extra cash lying around, I may pick up a set of 20" Sand Stars for play riding.

I hate any angled paddle. Who cares if they turn easier. Just put more effort into your turns. If your bowling at a fast clip you won't notice.. One thing to keep in mind is the roost they will kick up for you fellow duners behind you.. The best dune tire you can get is a Glider. Get a 21" Glider on an 8" wheel w/ 9 or 10 paddles.. Alot of people will say Gilders don't hook up,. They are wrong and usually just assume it because they have never rode w/ that set up. Gliders also allow the quad to rev freely. They kick up NO roost at all. You want an 8" wheel so the quad floats on the sand. A 10 " wheel will always want to dig more. A 10" wheel will also bend much much faster and there is almost no sidewall on the tire to absorb jumps or high impact whoop sections.. I run a 21x11x8,,,,, 8 paddle Haluer/Glider mix. Every other paddle is a Hauler then Glider. This is an exceptional set up on my ATK!!! However the roost it leaves behind for those following is something fierce.. I will be buying a 9 paddle Glider next time... We run a 20" 8 paddle Glider on our Athena.. The wife hates 21" tires... It revs like a 250r and has excellent foward grunt.. My first two sentences aren't directed toward any memebrs on this topic. This is just simply my opinion and not geared toward anybody here... My bro owned a 700r for about 4 months so I have ridden them..

I like the ITP Sand Stars for Glamis (21x7-10 front and 20x11-10 rears). All around in my opinion work great. They pull very well up hills, can slide em in turns, and don't throw alot behind you when you are on group blast to the hills. 5 pounds in the rear and 4.5 in the front seems to be a reliable combo for now for the sand.
