I agree. Before going hog wild, check to make sure the problem isn't just a fouled plug.
Throw a new one in and see if the problem goes away. If that doesn't work, make sure you are getting spark to the spark plug.

No dought that 4 strokes are expensive but thats cause their quality well built machines. And you don't have to fix them every d@mn time you want to go ride them. Or carry a case of tools and spark plugs with you. And todays 4strokes are right with the 2 strokes. See anyone in the quad circuit racing and 250R anymore, doughtful. See anyone riding motocross with a 2 stroke? Very few, soon to be none. So don't tell me a 4stroker won't crank dip$hit, yamahs's new R6 will turn 17500. Just as fast as any too stroke could dream

Actually it's more expensive to rebuild a 4-stroke because the engine is twice as hard to work on and there is twice as many moving parts.

After testing production units, Yamaha determined that the actual red line limit is approximately 16,000 RPM, resulting in a tachometer error of roughly 9%. This has no affect whatsoever on the performance of the motorcycle. And this is still very impressive.
But what is even more impressive is my 558cc 2 stroke will put out just about as much power as the new R6!

wow....for one thing, you are talking about a completely different machine. You cant even begin to compare YOUR 4 stroke to a damn street bike, thats just ridiculous. And yea...on a track four strokes are good because there is no powerband, nice even power all thru throtle. but when it comes to all out haulin ***...if you went dollar for dollar on perf. upgrades I would build a 2 stroke that would walk all over you every time. Period. And I don't know anyone who has to work on thier 2 stroke every time they wanna ride it...maybe you just didnt know how to maintain it.
by the way...did your bike come with a tool kit mounted somewhere on it? man..I wonder why the factory would do such a thing...........

Check the float level on the right carb.My banshee smokes more out of the right pipe at idle because the seat is wore out on the float valve,it makes it run rich at idle. I need to get a new float vlv. just haven't got around to it.
